Marianne on Violin

Violin

Marianne Rothschild migrated to Australia at the age of six with her family from Denmark. At seven she began learning the violin. She completed her Bachelor of Music Performance in violin at the VCA in 1997.

In 2000 she was accepted into the Australian National Academy of Music where she was chosen as one of five violinists nationally to study on scholarship for a year. At the Victorian College of the Arts she studied with Julian Quirit, Deborah Fox, Marco van Pagee and Carl Pini.

At ANAM she received tuition from visiting artists from interstate and overseas, such as the Australian String Quartet, the Goldner String Quartet, Elizabeth Wallfisch, Geoffrey Lancaster, James Buswell, Erich Gruenberg and Maurice Hasson.
